30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #12: Your Favorite Villain Song

A tie between the two most recent animated movies: "Friends on the Other Side" from Princess and the Frog, and "Mother Knows Best (Reprise)" from Tangled. Disney has a knack for great music altogether, but these two are my favorite villain songs. Dr. Facilier is "very charismatic!", to quote the frog prince himself, and Mother Gothel shows off the nastier side of her manipulative nature.

Day #11: Your Favorite Love Song

"A Whole New World" from Aladdin.

2nd Place:

"(I Won't Say) I'm in Love" from Hercules.

No reasons. Just cuz.

Day #10: Your Favorite Song

Oh, HOW DO YOU CHOOSE. I own more than half of Disney's animated movie soundtracks, and I love them all. But...I guess if I had to pick one...

"Go the Distance" from Hercules. I love every single song in Hercules(it's the only movie I can say that about), but I love this one the most. It's so inspiring and so beautiful.

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #9: Your Favorite Original Character(s)

Probably my favorite characters of all time. Words can't express how much I love these two, or any of the original toons. Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Clarabelle, Horace...I really love them all, but Mickey and Minnie get the top spot, now and forever. I can't explain why or what it is about these two that I find so endearing, but I really, really love them. Classic Disney for prez. :)

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #8: Your Favorite Villain

I think Maleficent is one of the scariest Disney villains to date. She cursed a baby princess, kidnapped the prince, grew thorns around the palace and turned herself into a dragon all because she didn't get an invite to a baby shower. I got my picture taken with her at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2009, it was terrifying. She doesn't talk much, she mostly sneers. :) She also makes an appearance in Dream Along With Mickey, my favorite show to watch at the Magic Kingdom. Lots of reasons, I guess.

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #6: Your Favorite Animal

Pascal! This little guy gets me every time. He doesn't speak a single word and yet he has you rolling in laughter. And he's so cute! He leaves every other animal character so far in the dust that I can't even think of a second place. :)

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #5: Your Favorite Hero

Hee hee. :) Favorite hero. My sister and I can fully agree on this one. Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert is fully the most loveable wonderful male protagonist to come from Disney Studios to date. I'm grinning big right now. :) :)

2nd Place:
Maybe it's just my love of Greek Mythology (don't shoot me, purists, I get that Disney's Hercules is very different from the Hercules in the actual myths) but Herc was top dog in my book (until Flynn came around, that is!). He's such a good boy, and you don't see a lot of the really good men in Disney. Usually it's the women that turn the men from their wicked ways. :)

Got a bit behind this week. Not exactly busy, but been focusing on a lot of other stuff. Disneyland premiered a new parade today! Check it out on YouTube: Mickey's Soundsational Parade. It's got a drumline in it, and dancing chimney sweeps, and Mickey playing a drumset, among other awesome things. It doesn't get much better than Disney and music combined into one!

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #4: Your Favorite Prince

The Beast. I just love him. He learned how to put the well-being of those he loved in front of his own needs, even if it meant he would never be human again. Plus he has the most epic library.

2nd Place:

Naveen realized that Tiana was more important to him than money ever could be and I find that painfully cute. Plus he's just a handsome guy who likes to have fun and I can totally relate to that. :)

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #3: Your Favorite Heroine

I recognize that Rapunzel is also a princess, but she didn't know that for most of her life. She is most definitely the "hair"oine of her movie. (I know, that was really bad.) When she puts her mind to something, she doesn't let anything stop her from doing it and I respect that.

2nd Place:

Mulan is probably the most powerful woman in all of Disney history. She was willing to give up everything to save her father's life and because of it she became China's heroine. Love it.

Until tomorrow!

30 Day Disney Challenge!

Day #2: Your Favorite Princess

It's hard to find something about Cinderella that isn't beautiful. She got the ultimate fairy tale ending: rags to riches, Prince Charming, the works. I firmly believe that every girl dreams of being Cinderella at some point or other. I certainly did!
2nd Place:

I've never not loved Belle. She's strong, smart, beautiful, and deliciously human. Her story is one of the best Disney has produced to date.

30 Day Disney Challenge!

I...really couldn't resist. I've been wanting to do this for a while. SO, without further ado, the 30 day Disney Challenge!

Day #1: Your Favorite Character

Eeyore! He's cute, cuddly, completely loveable, and did I mention entirely BLUE. Don't you just want to hug him? I know from experience that Eeyore gives the best hugs. You wouldn't believe how long it too me to figure this out. I have so many favorites in the Disney Universe that narrowing down the list was rather difficult. However, the beauty of this meme is that most of these favorites will be given a turn in the spotlight somewhere down the line. For those who care (actually, just for me), here's 2nd Place:

Stitch! ...Who is also entirely blue and, on occasion, cuddly and loveable. I think I've already learned a little about myself by doing this! Namely, I like blue things that I can cuddle/hug.

Until tomorrow!

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Welcome!

I realize that this is a strange time for me to start a blog. I spent a year living in Orlando and working at Walt Disney World and believe me, there were stories aplenty at the Most Magical Place on Earth. But, no time like the present! So buckle up. Any thoughts, rants, vents, temper tantrums, or exclamations of unquenchable joy that I am unable to voice out loud will probably end up here.

...And be warned: I will probably be mentioning Disney. A lot. :)
